I received the raw footage (ARRI Alexa) with little instruction other than to interpret the director's selects and the song lyrics into a crafted unique storyline. The initial music video instinct is to sometimes take beautifully shot footage and drop it in the timeline where it makes the most impact musically. But I tried to resist that urge and instead piece the footage together as a narrative first.

Stylistically, I wanted to draw the audience in and have them actually feel the pain of each punch. This is a story of internal conflict and perseverance, and is also potentially autobiographical for the audience. In addition, I used color and vignettes to signify between past, present, and future.
